Today I’m sharing my list of Australian Christmas Gift Ideas to take a bit of stress off shopping this year! Here’s where to shop for gifts that won’t break the bank and will even come to you!
I consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to killer gift buying in the categories of thought, budget, leaving it to last minute and not having to leave my house. Seriously – I can’t stand going to shops from about October onwards. I will do anything I can to avoid it.
If you are like me, and don’t have your presents all sorted six months in advance, and don’t quite feel like braving the masses, let me share with you a few winning present ideas, and where to get them from so you don’t have to leave your house!
Why am I focusing on Australia? Because we don’t have Amazon (yet) and most gift guides I see are focused on American brands. I thought it would be nice if us Aussie’s had a special gift guide all our own. BUT – you could still use this guide for gift ideas no matter where you live.
I have personally used every one of these brands for presents in the past or this year so they are 100% tried and tested. Some of the links are referral, which means if you do purchase something I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.
I strictly recommend things I am passionate about, and your trust is important to me. That’s why I wouldn’t blow it by recommending something I didn’t love and that you wouldn’t love in order to make money.
There are no gimmicks here – you like it, you buy it, I get to continue to make delicious recipes and humorous/self-deprecating posts for you all to enjoy.
Now without further adieu – let’s go shopping!
Something with their name on it…
If you are looking for personalised gifts for the whole family, you are sure to find something here! One of my most favourite gifts ever was when Adam’s mum bought us a pair of monogrammed towels with our names on them. You can buy towels, footballs, Christmas stockings, storybooks, mugs and a whole lot more!
Something unique and novel….
I can’t tell you the number of hours I’ve spent trawling through this website looking at their unique gift ideas! And I’ve found some winners over the years! If you need a gift, they’ve got it. Free shipping if you spend over $99, and you easily could if you have to buy for a few people! There’s even same day delivery if you are in Melbourne – that’s the closest we are getting to Amazon Prime right here in Australia.
Something for the beauty lovers…
These guys have the most fantastic Christmas gift boxes that I eye off every year. I use Nude by Nature makeup exclusively and have done for 3 years now. I love it – excellent coverage you can feel great about! You also get 40% off your first order!
This is my favourite natural beauty online shop. They have so many products to select from and some great gift ideas too! They not only sell beauty products, but also natural homewares, protein powders etc. And the best part? If you sign up with them (for free) shipping is free. I would say 90% of the products I recommend were purchased off Nourished Life.
I have been going crazy for Sante by Enjo’s new makeup remover sponges! They are environmentally friendly and come in 7 packs so you only need to pop them in the wash once a week! You can use with just water, or coconut oil.
Something to do….
I have purchased a bunch of different experiences off Adrenaline over the past few years, including Whale Watching, a half day quad bike adventure on North Stradbroke Island and a hot air balloon ride over the Gold Coast. There is truly something for everyone and I love browsing for gift ideas on this site!
A night or two away can be just what the doctor ordered! I’ve surprised Adam with a few nights away as a gift many times, and I love that you can easily see what’s the best deal in the area you are looking for. Yes – I’m a total bargain hunter.
Something to remember…
Photos make great gifts in my opinion. In the past I’ve made canvases, photo books, mugs, calendars and stationary, or even just a classic framed photo. I’ve purchased my fair share of subpar prints over the years sadly but Camera House offers high quality printing that I can get behind!
Something to read…
My dad loves to get a magazine subscription, and over the years I’ve bought him Time, National Geographic and New Scientist. They really make a great gift and better still – the gift keeps on coming! You can also get your mags delivered electronically these days!
Guys, there are so many people in my family who still prefer an actual book over one downloaded on IBook’s – including me! For example – I must have my recipe books in book form! I need to be able to dog ear every page I love and pretentiously display them in my kitchen. And I can’t do those things if they are on my I-pad! You know who also loves real books? Kids! Dymocks offer standard shipping of $5.99 per order – my kind of deal. They also have a fantastic range in all genres.
For those who enjoy reading electronically, you can gift a book electronically or buy a gift card they can use to spend on whatever they like!
Something to eat and drink…
Last year I bought my mum the most gorgeous cup and saucer for T2 and a beautiful blend of tea. Every time I see that cup and saucer I bought for her I get jealous because I want one. So, if my family is reading this, YES I would like this please! I have also bought this individual tea brewer as gifts before. They are awesome for preparing delicious tea at work!
Great value wines with free delivery and a 100% money-back guarantee on every bottle… These not only make the perfect gift but you could stop up yourself for the holidays!
You get a monthly delivery of 6-10 boutique health products and samples that are personalised for your dietary requirements. Each box is $25 a month, and they offer a 3-month special which you can give as a gift, as well as longer if you’d like! They also offer one off boxes including a snack and beauty box. This is my kind of subscription service!
Something to watch…
CDs are not something I buy anymore thanks to Apple Music (can’t recommend highly enough), but I love box sets as a gift. Here in Australia, neither Netflix or Stan have all the TV shows so if your loved one is nuts for Seinfeld or Friends or even Real Housewives (hey I won’t judge) why not consider buying them a box set. You must just have to check they have a DVD player first! Also, a great gift for kids – movies! Kids give a movie DVD a workout like you wouldn’t believe. Sanity was where I bought my very first CD ever from a million years ago so they’ll always be close to my heart.
Something environmentally friendly…
There are so many things I love in Biome – waste free lunch boxes, reusable cups, reusable kitchen pouches, reusable shopping bags… ok you get the picture. Some of these items are ones we often think would be great to have but rarely buy for ourselves, so why not give the gift of zero waste! They even have an entire gift section for Green Christmas on their website!
Something for those you won’t be seeing…
Adam was gifted two delicious gifts from Edible Blooms recently – a donut bouquet and a fruit basket! The presentation was amazing and everything was delicious and fresh. They have a whole Christmas gift range that is just magical, and the perfect present for those you won’t be able to see in person this Christmas!
I’ve never been a flower person myself, but my grandmother absolutely adores them. And since I will sadly be missing out on seeing her this Christmas, I’m sure she’ll appreciate a colourful Christmas bouquet to display on Christmas Day. My favourite part about Easy Flowers – their prices! Very affordable and they also offer same day delivery in some cases.
Something to spend…
Look, sometimes people just want a gift card. It pains me to be unoriginal, but you gotta give them what they want, right? Gift cards can also make great gifts for those you aren’t seeing at Christmas times because you can send them electronically! Woolworths online sells gift cards for their stores, BIG W, Dan Murphy’s, BWS Cellarmasters and Woolworths Petrol.
